Gear Checklist

Being prepared is very important at the ranch. Having the right Gear insures a successful hunt. However, you don’t need to go overboard buying stuff you don’t need. We like to keep it simple at the ranch. Rifle, ammo, clothing, food, water.

Hi caliber rifles are preferred like 3030, .308, and 44 magnum. .223 and similar calibers are allowed but we recommend the highest grain Ammo. It’s fun to shoot with close quarters combat weapons but more fun to see the hog hit the dirt instead of tracking it for a mile through the woods.

During winter months it can get very cold so make sure you bring the appropriate clothing. Summer months has its share of bugs. Avon skin so soft works the best against mosquitoes but off does the trick too.

Coolers are important depending on the amount of meat you want to take back with you. We do have a local processing option, however, we can skin and quarter your hog for you no problem.

Snacks and water are a plus but if you want to eat in town there are some good places. See the good places to eat section for recommendations and directions.
